Superhero: Damon Jacobs

Damon Jacobs inducted into the Love Superhero Hall of Gratitude in December 2015 for his tireless efforts as a PrEP advocate an educator, most notably his leadership at the helm of the wildly popular PrEP Facts: Rethinking HIV Prevention and Sex group on Facebook. One year following the FDA approval of Truvada for HIV prevention/PrEP, Damon dove in where the information and access left off. Bewildered as to why he continued to have friends being diagnosed with HIV with this highly effective method available, he launched a social media group which has grown to over 12,000 members in two and a half years. Damon talked about this online experience during a recent presentation at the National HIV/AIDS Prevention Conference (h/t to Frank Strona for the video). I honor Damon for his 24/7 efforts, his passion, his inclusion of women, trans women, and trans men in the conversation. To a world without new HIV diagnosis.
